Kengo Kasahara, Waseda University, Japan

1/10/14 ,Wednesday

Today I went to Tai wai and Wu Kai Sha beach with my friends! First, we went to Tai Wai and visited the temple. It is called Che Kung Temple. Actually, there are many temples and shrines in Japan. Therefore, it was not so surprising to me to see temples in Hong Kong. However, there are still some differences. For example, Japanese temples are made of wood, but in Hong Kong they are made of stones.
Next, we went to Hong Kong Heritage Museum. What attracted me a lot were the clothes of Chinese traditional opera. As I did not have ideas about the traditional opera, I really want to see if I have chance to do so.

In the evening, we went to Wu Kai Sha beach to see sun set, which was our main purpose! We had enough time before the sunset, so we saw heart shape stones and waded in the beach. The beach was not so clean but nature. I felt relaxed.

In Hong Kong we can see many buildings and skyscrapers, but we can hardly see such natural view. Therefore, today I felt green and had a good time! Actually, I felt tired because we waked a lot…haha

3/10/14, Friday

Today I had a quiz in one of my classes. Actually, this was my first time to take a quiz in City U. In Japan, except English classes, all lectures were taught in Japanese. Therefore, I had worried about the quiz though I prepared last night. In frank, I was not so diligent as I didn’t study very hard. I bought the textbook for the quiz, but eventually I didn’t read it a lot.… Of course I don’t know the result of the quiz, but I think it is not bad…I hope so. And next week I will have several quizzes, so I have to study harder.

For these past two weeks, I was not so fine… Actually, I have a slight asthma. It is getting worst after coming Hong Kong. I am not sure of the reason, but one of the reasons might be staying up late at night.

So, I think I should learn to become “good” student!!

4/10/14, Saturday

Today was my friend’s birthday! He is also an exchange student. We have contacted each other before coming to Hong Kong because we were looking for off-campus housing.
He invited us to have a dinner together. Before the dinner, I went to buy a present for him. However, it was hard to decide what we should buy with insufficient time before the dinner. Also, I am so indecisive. Finally, we bought the power for smartphone.

We had dinner in Jordan, which was Chinese food. It was delicious. And we also drank beer to celebrate his birthday! In Japan I have many chances to drink, but I seldom drink in Hong Kong. Though I get drunk easily I like drinking! So I was really happy to drink beer.

This is my first time to celebrate foreigner’s birthday. It was a new experience, but I felt we had the same, happy feelings.
To be frank, the most surprised thing was that we noticed we ate fries flog after the dinner…
